GTR Canopy top grill removal

Does anybody have experience of the effects from removing the standard grill from the top of the rear canopy on the GTR? I am wondering if it would be a simple way to reduce the under bonnet temperature by increasing airflow through the engine bay and also help reduce air charge temps. The effects would obviously be more noticeable at speed but would also provide an easier means of escape for hot air when stationary, I know the current advice for Can-am owners is to block it for this reason.

I have also noticed on more than one car that the rear grill (around the exhausts) has been removed, presumably to help with heat rejection; how successful is this?

I never fitted it in the first place... Still passes SVA...
