How about some recomendations guys?
Need a pair of tyres for my ZZR600. Nothing too soft, as I don't want to replace them again next week
Use the bike most of the summer for commuting, and occasionally out for a blat when the mood strikes. Something that inspires a bit of confidence ie, doesn't make my missus punch me in the kidneys when it gets squirmy , but at the same time isn't shagged after a couple of weeks up and down the local dual carriageway.

Anybody got any opinions? good? bad?

I saw something recently about tyres with a dual compound. The centre section was a harder compound for the commute and a softer stickier compound on the edges for when you go out for a fun ride and a bit more lean.
They had a few versions with different amounts of each compound. Don't know if they are any good though or even if they are for sale yet.

Dual compound would be BT020s. I've been happy with mine so far.

Not sure if it was the BT020's I was thinking of or the Michelin. But, looking at the Michelin site looks like they are a bit more than just road tyres unless you are balls out everywhere.

Tend to keep my balls in most of the time now only occasionally give them an airing !, so a harder compound should be better for me.

I've heard some really good things about Tomahawk tyres ZR rated remoulds. All the grip of a BT010 for £100 a pair, approx 3,000 miles from a set, and they are even available in different colours, although I believe they have given up their search for the perfect Kawasaki green.

I am seriously considering trying a pair when my current BT010s give up the ghost.

Re-molded AND coloured tyres - can't think of anything more dodgy or vile looking to put on a bike - wouldn't catch me using them in a fit - even if they made pink ones!!! YUKK

Fit only for shagged out old custom choppers from Back Street Hero type rallies

I think the concept of not having a broken leg (the result of a highside on remoulds) is worth more than the cost difference to some decent rubber. If you believe what you read in the bike press then fair enough, but if you've actually ever ridden with any of the journos, most of them can't ride that quickly....
