Hello techies,

for some days, there is something annoying happening :

I read a thread and all of a sudden PH is gone and a dodgy "your browser has selected you to be a winner" page appears.

  • Dear browser user,
They are the lucky winner of this day: June 24, 2017

Please complete this small survey. As a thank you you have the chance to win a 750 € Amazon gift card, a 750 € rewe gift card, a 750 € media market gift card, or an iPhone 7.*

This just happened in the "Road Rage" thread in BB.

I'm no PH tech, but it sounds like a browser virus. On chrome you can see what extensions are running, sure other browsers can be put right with a quick internet search.

Hi,

As mentioned above, I don't think this is an issue with PH, looks like a virus on your end I'm afraid. frown Sorry I can't be of any further help...

Still happens, and only when I am in PH, on various threads.

Can a browser virus be that selective ?

Normally happens when you've been watching a lot of porn. Clear all your history and saved passwords and should be good.

Keep off pornhub though smile

When it next happens, grab a screenshot of your whole screen, preferably whilst the bottom part of your browser is still showing where it is loading data from. Will let us look into where the page is loading from and hopefully who is serving the Ad.

I have had things like this happen on PH before and its not unknown for them to dish out some very interesting and intrusive ads and then blame it on the advertising company doing it and not them. This is true to a point obviously, but you would think they would be more troubled by it than they are.

Well, just as I was reading the reply I had won another iPhone or something.

In the dropdown window the page with SOURCE besides seems to be the redirecting culprit ?

P*rnhub ? Me ? Never, I follow the PH recommendation of a certain little animal living in fields.

The ads are never for some dodgy stuff like blue pills or schlongermakers,

it seems they are after my data, must have realized I am very powerfully built as is.
