Throttle cable

anyone changed the throttle cable on their Chim ? Is it a b*tch of a job or easy ? any probs to watch for ?

I've changed it on our 4.0L pre cat Griff a few years back. Don't know if it is the same. It was fairly straightforward. If I remember correctly, getting to the fitting at the throttle pedal required some gymnastics, and I have a vague memory that I might have dismounted the pedal to make things easier. So, not technically challenging but you need to be supple. A bit like changing the battery!

Had 3 break on TVRs and took AA man about an hour each time. Tie piece of string on old cable at pedals,and pull thru. Then repull new cable back same way with the string. Also easier to take bracket off and spring, in front of plenum. Worst bit is connecting up in the footwell.

Wot he said, 'cept I found the worst bit was fitting the cable to the linkage near the plenum - probably because I couldn't see how to remove the bracket easily.
Fitting the cable to the pedal was not too bad once you had removed the pedal from it's pivot and 'opened' up the slotted hole to remove the old cable before fitting the new nipple.
