Lotus elise Stack help!!!
Discussion
Hi all, wonder if you can help me. I am retro fitting a S1 elise stack system into my project car, and because the speedo is controlled by pulses to the ecu, i need to know how many pulses the elsie S1 sends, either per second, minute etc. Any help at all would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Ian,
The S1 Elise has 42 pulses per wheel rev, taken from the rear driveshaft.
If you take the rolling circ of an Elise rear wheel, 1910mm, and the rolling circ of whatever wheel you plan to run you can work out how many teeth you need you need on your toothed wheel on your axle.
It needs a VR input by the way.
Cheers,
Simon

The sensor it uses creates its own electrical current when it passes a ferrous metal tooth. This gives the pulse the dash needs.
The sensor has two wires, one goes to ground and the dash has one input for the other.
The other sort of wheel speed has three wires, one is powered, one goes to ground and one to the dash. This will not work with your dash.
Not sure where you can get the correct sensor from, other than an Elise. It may be the same as on an MGF.
