RAF valley this week.

I'm off camping in Anglesey this week and I'm hoping to get a day or so photographing at RAF Valley. Does anyone have a heads up as to what is the best viewing points, what aircraft could be expected as well as any of the comms frequencies?

One of the beaches (not sure of its name) is a public right of way and is a few yards from one of the runways.
Should see Hawk T2s a plenty.
They'll be off doing basic jet handling, weapons training or learning air combat maneuvering. The trainees will either get 'chopped' if they are not good enough and get directed to helicopters or transport stuff, or if they pass they will go on to fly the pointy-nosed aircraft. Some others will be returning front line pilots learning how to become instructors.

Lol, have you seen the weather for Anglesey ''the sunny isle'' this week?... Grim as per usual.
I prefer to go watching them at the Rhosneigr end of the runway, depends which way the winds blowing if that's where the action is at, look out for the red and white mobile air control van.
You can walk across the old bailey bridge and stand at the end of the runway directly under the flight path as they come in to land or bump.
Edit - I've just remembered the last time I passed that way they were resurfacing the Rhosneigr end of the runway, so unless they've finished ignore everything i've just said!

Having grown up round that way - I would always go to the other end: at Cymyran beach. There is a small mound that you can sit on and you are practically right under the end of the runway Wayne's World style.....

The SAR helicopters used to be at this end of the field as well, but I think they are long gone now unfortunately.

p.s. it's a nice walk along the sand dunes all the way to Rhosneigr so you could just do that too.
