Hi, I'm currently 18 and looking for something a bit more fun and unusual to drive. I currently drive a 15 plate Ford KA which I love (first cars always do feel love I guess) but I wanted something a bit different. I've always loved alfas etc. but worried about reliability issues. I've got little preference in body type but don't want anything TOO large because my car park at work is tiny spaces! Insurance is obviously a major issue, I'll have my first years no claims and I don't want anything too expensive to buy (less than £10,000). Open to any suggestions! smile

Didn't think of a Lexus! seem like a lot of car for the money - Japanese cars tend to be more expensive to insure, not sure why, but it'd be worth a check!

I'm 19 and drive an e90 3 series, I love it cause it's fast down a country lane, does doughnuts on grass, reliable and most importantly comfortable, plus all my friends love it cause it has actual space in the back seats.

What was insurance like? Don't want to be spending too much on that it feels like lost money haha

If you buy something more family oriented insurance will be cheaper than a typical 18 year old choice of hot hatch.
Look outside the box and lots of luxury cars you will find are cheaper to insure than your little hatchback.
Volvo for instance do some fab turbo engined cars, old p38 range rovers with a 4.0 or 4.6 v8. Jag s-types or v8 xj's buy according to your budget smile

At 18 don't worry about the cost of insurance being "lost money". it won't be!

As said look for family cars.

Alfas are fine but you really need a good specialist otherwise they can indeed become royal moneypits.

What kind of e90 3 series do you have as i also liked a car like that but thought insurance would be ridiculous ??
