Seat Leon 2ltr TDI Engine / Carriage Shaking
Discussion
This is a tricky issue about my Seat Leon 2ltr tDi 140 bhp 2006 plate.
The car engine has always had the classic diesel carriage shake, a little like when you're stationary at the traffic lights in an old black cab and you can almost see the bonnet moving.
Recently, the carriage / engine vibration shake was getting ridiculous. There was also the class DMF (Dual Mass Flywheel) clicking and ticking.
However, I've just had the DMF replaced with a brand new LUK one with clutch and slave and the clicking has all but vanished.
There was a small fault in the diagnostic, throttle pedal sensor.
We recently changed the temperature sensor but it still hasn't resolved two key issues:
1) The car doesn't start easily on ignition. It takes around 3-4 seconds and seems like it's out of touch or gasping. Only a delicate pressing of the throttle pedal works. I want the car to start nicely first time.
2) The carriage shake is a joke. The steering wheel is shaking violently and the engine seems like it's like a kettle boiling - thrashing up down left right etc.
Does anyone recommend changing throttle pedal sensor for 1) or could it be starter motor?
Does anyone know whether 2) is likely to be a) engine mount bolts b) throttle body c) cam shaft d) timing measurements out
Thanks all,
B
