Well I have taken the plunge and I am picking up a 2004 Tamora on Friday having traded in my Chimaera. There seems to be alot of people swapping to the S6 engined cars recently.. I wonder why? Just thought I would say my first hello on this forum and look forward to seeing you guys around as she will be used daily. Anything I should know about Tams that i haven't read about in the last 20 or so pages of this forum!!?!!

Congrats on your purchase Mark - so what kind of helicopter do you fly? I went to a track day at Keevil a while back, over in your neck of the woods, and there was a bloody great big army Chinook flying overhead doing various manouvres, it was very impressive

Hi all. I will indeed sign up to the register when I pick it up..I do have some pictures already but don't want to tempt fate! As for the Army flying Chinooks you had better be careful as the RAF may get a bit upset as it's their baby. I am lucky enough to fly quite a few different types in my job but mainly the Army's Apache at the moment.

God I love helicopters, did have 1 scary momemt in 1986, off the back of a type 22 when we had gearbox failure (or something) in a lynx, but other than that, huge respect for pilots, and even then huge respects for how calm everyone was as we dropped like a stone!

I think people are, at last, coming around to the idea that these engines are the dog's proud bits! Horror stories about the S6 are dying away and, lets face it, all it takes is one test drive and you just know!

Welcome to the Tam club.

Haven't flown the Merlin yet but have flown the simulator and of course the Apache has the same engines/FADEC (well sort of!)
