After 3 months 'oop north' my baby is now back on the road...all runny sweet as a nut.. hell it even sounds a bit like a honda under the growl..

But my god! how hard is it to drive around at 2.5K everywhere!! arg.

200 miles gone. 800 to go. need to plan more road trips to get these miles done! :-)

sheesh it's good to have her back though.

Have they changed the running in procedure? Use to be 0-250 miles up to 3500 RPM (when warm of course),then gradually increase RPM up to 2000 miles. You don't want to be glazing thoes new cylinder bore's

Ah, "new engine whir". Yes - sounds positively Japanese, doesn't it?

Sounds almost like there's a supercharger fitted.
When you can filter out the crisp packet noise that is!!

Was told 2500rpm usually. After 100 miles or so, the odd blast of throttle to 4000 odd ok.

Keep it up for 1000 miles (then service).
