As regular visitors to this forum will know, I'm a huge fan of Brands Hatch but that's not to say I'm free of opinion on the place.

Made my first visit this year on Sunday expecting see much of the "exciting development work" that's been promised over the past year or so. From what I can tell, this comprises of;

• New signs
• The re-painting of the Hawthorn Bar (paper, cracks, over come to mind!)
• And an extended run off area on the exit of Druids.(racers here may tell me otherwise but in 20 years of watching racing at Brands, I can't recall any significant incident here - but plenty on the entry of Druids!)

Plus, it now costs an extra £2 to get in!

There's a few good meetings planned but nothing like the quantity or quality of previous years.

Am I being over critical?

(BTW, The Radicals and Jedis were hugely entertaining !)

Equally good but didn't get to see them all (ended up watching the GP in the Kentagon and then had to leave early to take little Miss Bee to a party!)

Something I noticed on all the races was that the GP circuit tends to spread the field out into little clumps of racing between 2 or 3 cars. Not a bad thing by any means - just different.

Serious, no - but I have seen races run under the safety car for a while as they try to clean the mess up. Hopefully the extra room will lessen the need for that.

Overcritical and overhasty. We met Jonathan Palmer was in the repainted Hawthorn Bar on Sunday and he said the serious work work starts on Monday.

On the circuit I take it - not just the Hawthorn Bar!

I drove past cadwell on saturday, and whilst obvious to the trained eye that some things had been going on at the circuit, Im sure the addition of a next meeting board or a whats on poster at the entrance might help get a few spectators in, and more spectators might mean more sponsorship for drivers, which might mean more drivers and fuller grids, which might mean more spectators...... shock horror i've just solved the problems in motorsport.....

sorry Cadwell is another msv circuit

another suggestion for msv might be answer the blinking phone when someone phones up about testing etc....

I am also a big fan of Brands Hatch......got to be one of the best circuits in the UK(GP circuit)IMO.

Lets hope some worthwhile improvements are made.
