I've been trying to remove the door hinge pins from my Ford Puma. I managed to get the top one to move alright but the bottom one is being a royal PITA! I jacked the car up so I could get some extra hammer swinging room but the poxy thing wouldn't shift.

Is there a special technique (other than brute force and ignorance) or can someone recommend a tool that I can buy? Grinding isn't an option as it's nigh-on impossible to get to.

would it not be easier to unbolt the hinge and stick it in the vice then you can get to it alot easier???

i'll check on my own puma over the weekend - there are door-pin removal tools but different types for different applications

Unfortunately, the hinges are welded to the door and the car so that's not an option for me.

A new pin is <£5.00 so my plan at the moment is to cut the top of the pin off with a Dremel then bash it out top to bottom. If that doesn't work then I'll get a G-clamp type removal tool and try pressing it out. Failing that then I'll have to drill it.

on my mk2 golf one end of the door-pin is knurled,so knocking the pins out knurled-end first was pretty easy, but trying to remove plain-end first was all but impossible.
