Good Morning,

How long to 599 brakes last? Are they still £11k plus fitting?

This is an issue that is putting me off a 599.

I had the pads changed at about 9k miles - had done a fair bit of track and mountain driving. Can't remember how much it cost but it wasn't a vast amount. Now at 14k miles and the pads and discs have loads of life left in them. If you want to know what life to expect and what the cost would be ask a couple of dealers (probably independents like The Ferrari Centre).

Ceramics were an option until around 2008. Became standard after this. Ceramics are supposed to last for a lifetime of the car but can be expensive to replace.

A company in Germany can rebuild them for alot less apparently...

I thought they were made to last a lifetime too. I was surprised they needed replaced. Is servicing for a 599 every 12 miles?

I looked at a 599 with rear discs in need of replacement in 2014 and I think they were about 6k for the pair
Replacing rear brake pads on the FF was c 1.3k from memory
Saw a bill for full disc and pad replacement on an FF in an advert at some point and I think it was c 15k

All figures in euros
