Saw it was in America and was amazed that it wasn't a Bible. Morons having a handgun hanging around is par for the course over there but how they came about an encyclopedia is beyond me.

Yeah saw that. Crazy, however, I fear they will not be eligible for a Darwin Award as the idea is to remove them from the gene pool but they have two kids already, therefore the genus will be passed on.

Most people don't understand the power behind firearms and just how far bullets can travel. Even very small cartridges like .22LR can go through a lot more material than most people realise, mostly because in films people hide behind cars, walls, doors, tables etc and the bullets stop... Meanwhile in the real world its like a knife through butter.

What happened to the part of their brains that was supposed to say, 'It would be best to experiment with another book first, you know, just to make sure it is OK..'

Great idea for a YouTube video - going to hold a block of butter in front of my chest and get the wife to stab a knife in to it. What could go wrong!

Like my video please!!

It's he fact that 30 neighbours were watching and none of them tried to stop the stunt.

Even if by some miracle the bullet had missed at 30cm the muzzle flash would have caused serious injuries.

Idiots, there are some seriously stupid people out there.

To be fair, there's now one less.

It is about a buck a round so they wouldn't want to waste the cash...

They're basically designed to take out an intruder that's behind the fridge in your neighbours house.

Might have been an idea to shoot at a book on its own first before putting it to you chest and shooting at it.

I read that he did try it first, and apparently it didn't get through the book. Don't think it was the same book though, and I'm guessing that book was just perched on his back fence with nothing behind it, rather than held steady with a mass equivalent to a person?

Git you there with all yer fancy book larnin' words.

A book is a book ain't it? Like even I knows a pound o feathers is the same as a pound o sand.

If'n it been me ah'd have used a Bible and the Lord his'self would have had my back, yes sir and praise be to Jeeeeeeezuz.
