FUEL INJECTION WARNING LIGHT

Almost got to work this morning and the MIL light came on.Stopped and checked my handbook which said Fuel Injection.Drove straight to Central TVR and, although they were very busy, kindly put a tester on it and the fault code is 88, which says PURGE. They assure me the car is fine to drive until Thurs. when they will fix it. Anyone else ever had this fault at all ? peter

That is the fault code for the carbon cannister purge valve. Presumably it's jammed?

Ah, he says knowingly !! Ok to drive for a bit then ? Just driven home from work ( 12 miles ) and she's running like a dream.i

Can you buy the fault code readers? Do gunson do a code reader for our ECU?
