Ok, so by chance I bumped into a guy who I know who is getting a new car and is part ex the above car (Bi-turbo engine) as part of the deal.

I have been in the hunt for a well specced car (no specific make or model) just something that is considered 'premium' for a while and just after a great deal.

Anyway, I said I may be interested and he told me a little more about the car....

- just under 30,000 miles
- full audi service history
- just approaching 3 years old i.e. 64 plate
- 21 inch wheels
- loads of extras ticked (except sun roof)

Without even haggling he said £28,000 for the car.

What do you guys think? Great price or just a good price?

Firstly it is a fantastic fantastic car! You really won't regret it. It has tonnes of presence, suitably prestige but quite aggressive and sporty looking. The bi-tdi sits lower than all other A7's, so on the 21's it looks great. Just make sure it has tech-pack/heads-up.

Price wise its ok, I take it that is the pre-facelift (which looks better IMHO)? Considering that Audi are selling the lowly 204ps and 265ps engines in similar age/spec/mileage for about 26k it seems priced about right but you won't have warranty. For reference I purchased my big-spec 63 plate with 21k mile from Audi for 34'000 18months ago but with 2 yrs warranty.

Not many rivals either. The SQ5? I think the BMW is a good alternative and you can get a 640d GC for less than 28k. The only other rival would be the CLS350 but that's a fair bit slower.

That's £30k on a forecourt, more if it's a facelift or the specification is really silly.

If Dr G estimates a 30k retail price it's unlike he will be getting 28k part ex.

I just double checked with the guy and hes confirmed it isnt the facelift model - this makes me feel it isnt a 'great' price any more.

on that basis I think i'm going to leave it.

Wouldn't actually surprise me; the guide prices on A7s are far too high so if they're selling it to someone that doesn't know...
