About as kosher as bacon wrapped pork sausages

Fake sunglasses do not absorb ultraviolet rays and can cause irreversible eye damage. It is better not to wear any glasses than to wear glasses without UV filter

There is nothing kosher about that.

If it looks to good to be true, it is.

You will not get genuine Ray Bans for £17.00 end of!

Buy from there and you probably wont even get a fake pair. You'll get scammed instead.

Get some from Costco, cheaper than duty free at the airports.

If you buy from sunglasses hut, you get two years warranty which fixes any defects or problems, and if you smash them or sit on them within 12 months of purchase, you take the remains in to them and they'll give you 50% off another pair.

That's worth paying full price for IMO.

Fake sunglasses are always crap.

Yep, I made do with some cheap shades for a while after losing a pair of Ray Bans (a regular occurrence), and they actually hurt my eyes when I was driving.

I don't bother with 'bargain' shades anymore because of that. Original Ray Bans all the way now.

They're not working very well if you'd to ask in the first place, then phone Ray Ban to be sure.

This thread reminds one of one of those programs on BBC1 Fake Britain(?). They had a well dressed, fashion conscious woman on who told the story of sitting on the beach in Turkey year after year and negotiating with the looky looky men over designer fashion sunglasses such as Prada and Versace. She was paying no more than 10 euros a pair and she seemed quite pleased with herself.

She then went on to explain that she started to struggle focusing her right eye, went for medical advice, discovered she had cancer of the eye and had to have it removed. This woman then had the audacity to complain that people should not be allowed to sell these fake sunglasses, meanwhile my mrs is shouting at the TV "Your must have known they were fake when you bought a £200+ pair of sunglasses for less than a tenner!".

Don't risk your eyes people. Make sure the glasses you buy have the sun protection first, then worry about impressing strangers with stylish designs.

I like Ray Ban but personally would recommend Serengeti. They are the best lenses I've ever had in a pair of sunglasses.

Ray ban do prescription frames as well as sunnies, they will make a Wayfarer Rx frame.

Anglo American do a very close and good quality copy called Cruise. I sold loads before my retirement . I can't give you an idea of comparative costs because I didn't sell Raybans.

For cheap sunglasses which definitley have the requisite proper UV protection, give Primark a go. They have loads of the popular designs, and they're ludicrously cheap. My current pair cost me 2 quid and they look fine. They don't have Ray-Ban in tiny writing on the lenses, but otherwise look much the same, and as mentioned, they have the best level of UV protection you can get in normal sunglasses.

I was slightly sceptical at first, but I looked up a few tests online, and the primark glasses always seem to do pretty well in tests. Ray Ban's are probably a higher quality construction, but general advice is to replace every couple of years anyway as the UV protection breaks down over time.

Vision express do ray ban frames, and will fit prescription lenses. I have some in a wayfarer type style but they were not cheap. Well worth the money I felt though.

From memory, I paid about £90 for my Aviators. However, that was in 1989 and I still wear them.

Well, sometimes there are silly offers like this and whilst 99.99999% are wrong uns, the odd one slips in. so we dis it completely. Also rang Ray Ban to give them a heads up and it is the xecond site they have been advised of. She thanked me for letting them know

Totally agree, they casue the pupil to open further and let in more harmful rays. Fake sunglasses are dangerous.
