the market has risen significantly in my area since january, the traditional january bump from all the people who held off in december has simply continued.

and investing in foreign property is risky...but not necessarily stupid

what people fail to remember is that you're buying somewhere to live, not an investment...it's only ever a paper profit until you sell and when you do you'll have to get another!

everyone should calm down about the bloody housing market....

for instance it boils my p1ss when people whinge about accepting a lower offer the house you want will be cheaper too!

The esatate agents think the housing market will continue rising forever well beyond any increase in earnings. Nothing lasts forever, the people being convinced to buy in at the moment are like the losers in pyramid selling schemes. Fools.

the thing is, you just don't know...wouldn't it be annoying if in a years time we looked back at this thread and saw that house prices had risen by a further 15%? you'd look a bit silly saying that the people buying now are losers....

makes me laugh - their aint nothing we can afford - q 10 mins later this 3 bed house but 20 mins drive from where they wanted to be.

Do they want it - nah - 20 mins drive is too far.

Made me laugh that the couple from Ilkley are complaining about not being able to afford a place, 20 mins drive away in Howarth there's quite a nice little place within their price bracket, then the Old Bint who found them the place is saying you can double your money in the next few years.

Errr HELLO, this is the reason why there are NO houses for the 1st time buyers. because the prices are skyrocketing.

Did I hear them right in saying 92% of towns in the UK are too expencive for 1st time buyers ?

What ever happpened to "affordable homes" ?
