Hi,

I have recently purchased a Panasonic NV GS55 camcorder (my first) but Im finding the instructions useless. I also have a bullet camera to connect.

I normally OK learning new kit but my patience is starting to go. Here are a few questions I cant fathom.
How do you choose which mode to record in when using the bullet camera plugged in via the AV in, it always wants to record on the card.

When using the supplied software DV studio 3.1 can you only download images from the memory card or can you load video from the tape down.

Or should I just get a huge memory card and always use that ?

I have sent the last hour very frustrated, Any ideas greatly welcome.

Brian

Are you using USB or Firewire? I've heard of cameras with both, but that only give you video over Firewire.

No. That would be a very expensive way to limit your recording capacity.

OK... been here (allbeit on Sony kit). You need to be on VCR mode - THEN via a menu get it to record. Then it'll know you want to record via an outside source.

You DON'T want to be in camera mode.

Thanks Gents, still no joy ,really loosing the rag now

I can get the bullet cam to work (I can view the camera image in the LCD) but it will only record on the card. All I want to do is get it to record on the tape. The book is of no use. I can get it the record on the tape or the card but no choise while using the AV in.

Any more suggestions before all my hair falls out,

Thanks

I usually throw stuff out of the window and leave it there overnight. Teaches stuff who's the boss, and they often work in the morning.

No really.

Ok , my hair is now firmly back in place.
I have finally worked out that you need to set this function up using thr play and Rec buttons on the remote and not the camcorder

All is calm now, cheers !
