Is there one?

End of term teachers' presents due. If there's a female friendly model then even better.

This is my favourite sort...

Bit over of budget, but comes in a nice box. Like this type as most other corkscrews require force. This sort winds the cork out which is both less effort and less likely to rip up a weak cork.

It is, we bought one for a relative based upon a PH rec. But it is, as you say,£10 over budget (plus delivery),

There's a brabantia version on Amazon for 5.75 otherwise £20. Honesty thought they were about a tenner !

If I may, in traditional PH fashion, not answer the question at all.

My wife is a teacher and 90% of the end-of-term gifts she gets go straight into the present box to be given to someone else. If it's edible then we'll eat it, if its drinkable then we'll drink it, and then never think about it again.

The only thing that she ever keeps, and ever looks at again, are hand-written notes that the kids have obviously put some effort into themselves. Doesn't need to be an essay, just a 'thanks for being my teacher' is enough and is far more meaningful - and personal - than something that daddy has ordered from Amazon.

You make a valid point. My wife is a teacher too. So we never buy candles! But I think a gift is in order - perhaps something foody is a good idea..

This (style) is much better than "decent". It turns opening a bottle into a 10sec exercise with zero chance of spillage or broken cork.

Having considered your point, we decided to buy leather note books and the children are making hand-written thank you plaques to stick in them.
