Looks like my car was a demonstrator in 1970 at an alfa dealers in London. Was there just one dealer in London then and was it in Sloane square? anyone?!

Thank you very much.

Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo will only say that the car was sold to Alfa Romeo UK, London. I asked which dealer and they said "That means that your specific chassis number was sold to the Alfa Romeo branch in London". Does that mean a dealer or the actual company in the UK?

I'd imagine it went from the factory to the distributing dealer, which I think is most likely to be the one near Staples Corner. Similar situation to my '68 Cooper S, which being a Morris rather than an Austin went to Stewart & Ardern's main distribution centre in Acton, then it went to one of their other branches in North London where it was first sold and registered.

I used to love going to Ramponi to get bits for my Sud and then my 33 Green Cloverleaf. 88-92-ish.

Jazz playing in the background, all sorts of tasty 60s, 70s and 80s Alfas there.

Brilliant place.
