The perils of glue
Discussion
Been meaning to put this up here for a while. As I'm waiting for my girl to have a new bonnet thought I'd try and stop some of you making the same mistakes I have (especially people new to Tivs).
My sticky situations have been as follows:
1) Rear number plate fell off whilst I was cleaning it. Being a clever chap
I thought I would prevent this from happening again by sticking it back on with super glue. Oh no
This set pretty quickly, however, as I went back in for a quick
it began raining. Rain got under the number plate - glue began to run and then set hard in a nice long streak between the exhaust pipes
2) Not learning my lesson
about a year after having my wheels refurbished I noticed that the TVR logo centre pieces had been refitted (after a service) and were at an ungamely angle. These had broken, so out comes the old super glue but this time I waited for a nice dry day and used it sparingly. No problems. HOWEVER
Took the old girl for a spin a week later and what do I find - only the bloody glue has leaked out from under the logo and formed a nice two inch diameter crust around each badge (I'd only done the fronts thank god!). Not sure how this has happened - maybe the heat from the brakes softened the glue and the wheels spinning caused it to spread out.
How fortunate I was that it dried before I stopped and had chance to do something about it
Anyone got any ideas of how to get it off - or do I need to refurbish them again?

and if you're stuck*, then nail varnish remover will give a similar effect (though not quite as good)
