Hi

I'm hoping somebody can help!!

The air con isn't working in my car (it is fully gassed!) and I've been told I need a Pressure Regulating Control Valve. In order to get one of these I need to know what make the air con compressor is in my Mk 5 Golf GT TDI 140 (56 plate). Does anybody have any idea?! If it's a VW part, does anybody know the part number? I have spoken with VW and they don't know...

Also, the only place I have been able to source the valve is in the USA. Are you able to buy them over here?

TIA

Just to let you know in case you don't already A/C is not user-seviceable unless you have many £1000s of pounds worth of gear & the training to use it.

Based on that, you will pretty much HAVE to take it not just to a garage but an A/C specialist anyway, so why not try your local A/C specialist for help, it may be easier in the long run.

Thanks for getting back to me. I should've paid attention as to where I was posting this...

I work in a garage (only on reception!) and the work is being carried out here but to save the boys the hassle of getting the compressor out (again) I was just hoping that somebody somewhere knew what make it would be.

It's great working in a garage until you need work done on your own car then you're waiting forever!

I had the same issue, VW dont sell the valve separately, you can get them from Amazon via china. Euro Car Parts sell them for about £100, I ended up getting a new pump from euro car parts for £180 inc Vat.

You can get the valve from TPS.
Part number would be on your failed valve most likely or look on ETKA online.
