Years ago my doctor put me on Beta-blockers, they were awful, they put me in some weird detached fugue like state. Yes I was calm but it felt like I was watching the world from inside out.
She then tried some calcium whatsit which played havoc with my bowel movements. Finally ended up on ramapril, which makes me cough all the time. The big problem with this medication madness, the side effects are often worse than the symptoms, tension headaches in my case. The only reason I take them is doctors orders, not because I want to.

Good effort though.
I'm on Bisoprolol as part of the 'standard kit' following my heart attack in March this year (also Ticagrelor/Aspirin/Atorvastatin/Ramipril). A paltry single stent here.
I feel a bit more tired in the evenings than I used to, but nothing drastic. At my Cardiac Rehab course on Wednesday night they mentioned that wind was one of the side-effects, so I have informed the t'wife that this is the cause of me guffing with reckless abandon, so she can't complain about it!

The bouts of constipation are not helping either but I tend to do the oranges route to help get things moving .

On the subject of wind (which is a big issue here), my O/H is from Aberdeen. She can recite this word for word...

I was on them for a year or two after getting some weird flu at Heathrow that left me with an elevated heart rate.I sort of recognise the mood you describe but I quite liked it. First time in years I'd felt relaxed.

Now on a Beta Blocker and the modern version of Warfrin .
Having to carry a warning card because of the Warfrin and potential issue if I get cut etc .
I`m on Warfrin 6 and Bisoprolol, plus of course the regular anticoagulant blood tests every 10 days or so.After another heart problem on tuesday I have been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation.
Now on a Beta Blocker and the modern version of Warfrin .
Having to carry a warning card because of the Warfrin and potential issue if I get cut etc .
They only discovered my Atrial Fibrillation by accident. I was due to have a final prostate biopsy (the one where you have full anesthetic) the pre op ECG found it,so the op was put on hold. Thanks to the medication my heart rate is under control so I was able to have the biopsy,result benign.
So good news all round for me.

More or less the same with me. I was anticipating prostate surgery when a ECG during the pre-op assessment discovered a heart irregularity. The op was cancelled and I had radiotherapy insteadThey only discovered my Atrial Fibrillation by accident. Thanks to the medication my heart rate is under control so I was able to have the biopsy,result benign.
