What was your odd take on the world when you were a small kid ?

I was convinced that everything from the 'olden days' was actually black and white. Because TV was black and white and the only old cars I saw were black, I actually thought that colour was introduced to this planet in the 50's.

I also thought that because we were warned never to take sweets from strangers, it was because they were going to be the 'hot ones' that you could get from joke shops and they'd burn your mouth.

The innocent mind eh ?

When very young I asked my mother where I came from. Thinking quickly she said from a packet, like seeds.

After thinking about this for a while I returned and enquried 'is your face on the packet?'

The world still baffles me now...

I used to wonder about drink driving.
Perhaps a cup of tea isn't such a good idea when going on a long journey since you might need the loo

I remember being totally in Awe of the Bible stories of Christ. For years I was amazed that in the short period between his birthday at Christmas and his death at Easter he'd lived such a full life, what with all the water into wine, shepherding and wot not, and must have been some kind of quick-ageing super-human. It wasn't until I was about 7 that I finally realised that the Christmas and Easter involved didn't fall in the same year.

I also thought that the old days were black and white in real life.
I also beleived that there was underground tunnels where people would turn on the street lamps.

When I was younger I felt like the police were there to help and I felt safe because of this.

Views have changed a little!

Was fascinated by dinosaurs, and convinced that my grand dad was so old that he must have seen them. Kept questioning him about them, what they looked like, etc, .....

My nan told me that my mum was born under a rhubarb plant in the back garden. Then, on another occasion she told me that my mum had been born on the kitchen table - I couldn't figure out how they found a rhubarb plant big enough to fit the table under!! No questioning why?!

I used to think that if I didn't finish life on even steps, i.e. my right foot, I'd go to hell.

I spent precious hours of my childhood ensuring I always finished walking with my right lege, just in case.

Still tend to do it now, as I guess my little theory has enveloped itself in my subconsciousness!

Me too! Not the hell bit, though.

I had read that in the future the sun would explode. I knew it would be millions of years but it still worried me!

I was a bit of a worrier.

I used to think that cars were propelled along by their exhaust fumes... and this was why sports cars had four exhaust pipes

Me too! I still fret about that now! I used to worry about having children, just in case they had children who would explode.

and yet I still don't recycle!

I did this too, apart from the hell bit. I just had to have things even.

This also went for things such as counting the white lines in the road when I was a passenger in the back of a car. I had to stop counting on an even amount and quickly shut my eyes or turn away.

What a parculiar child.

Spot on! Thought the more exhaust pipes, the faster the car!! I think at about age 7 the fastest car ever was the Maserati Bora!!
