Michelin Power Competition or Continental GP 4000S II.....?

Currently running some of the Michelins and have generally been very impressed. Seem to roll really rather well, I ride on all sorts of roads and they seem pretty puncture proof, but I've also heard great things about the Continentals. Continental ones RRP at £60 each which is absurd, although currently 1/2 price which is similar (or even a shade cheaper) than the Michelins.

I generally swap to Schwalbe Durano Plus performance or whatever their most puncture proof tyre is called for the winter which are insanely heavy and thick....so the Michelins stick to my summer wheels.

They're both top end clinchers, neither are st and any differences between them are either in your head or utterly negligible. Can't go wrong with either, so go for whatever is cheapest!

Hi, can't comment on the Michelin's but I changed from bontrager R4 to continental and the difference was amazing , more comfort , more grip better feel over crappy roads and because of all this , quicker . Great tyres even at full price , I recommend 100%

I used to use Schwalbe ones and loved them, yesterday was first ride on Conti 4000's and very happy with them, especially in 28mm, so comfy.
Have a look at the Canyon website as they have the Contis for 26 pounds each in all sizes, delivery is not the quickest but hard to argue at those prices.
They also have really cheap groupset part prices in the sale if you need a cassette or anything.

I picked up a pair of Conti GP4000S ii's at £22 each (from Evans). A girl in the shop price matched them. When I went back later in the week to get a spare I found they couldn't get to the same price (think she matched against GP4000S).

I had Michelin Pro 4 Endurance before which gave me no end of trouble with punctures!

Thanks chaps. Looks like I'll get a pair of the Continentals to try out, they're a few £ cheaper per tyre at the moment than the Michelins.

I also had Michelin endurance and also suffered 7 punctures in 120 miles , they went back for a full refund from chain reaction , I complained to Michelin and the lack of interest in what was supposed to be their big flagship tyre was staggering , wouldn't touch Michelin again .

I don't want to jinx it but I've been running the Power Competitions for a while now and hazarding a guess I must have done 1500+ miles and have ridden some shoddy surfaces and have been fine!
