Hello all.

My usually reliable car has let me down! It was running fun yesterday and then after a long drive it wouldn't start. I thought it might be a hot start issue but this morning when cold it had the same issue. The engine turns over but doesn't fire up.

Based on the info given, you havent a hope in hell of a remote diagnosis......because effectively there is no info.

It could be a dozen things, or more.

What happens when you prime the system using the manual primer.
(This is usually rugby ball shaped with a pipe either end, this should be firm and may need to be pumped to increase pressure)
With this now primed, will it start?

Is there any fault codes, any fuel in it ? any odd noises when turning over ? strange lights on the dash ?

No history at all prior to this ? Alarm working normally etc ?

Will it bump start ?

I'm not sure how to check for fault codes but there is fuel in it, no odd noises while cranking and no warning lights on the dash. No history of any problems like this before. The engine has always been reliable. I haven't checked the alarm, not sure how to do that unless I try to break into it and I haven't tried to bump start it.

Probably worth slackening the pipes to the injectors, do you have fuel at the injectors when cranking?
Is there 12v to the fuel shut off solenoid on the pump? (assuming it has one)
Is the fuel in the tank definitely diesel and not petrol? smile

Turns out my primer bulb wasn't as solid as I thought. Air leak in the fuel pipe somewhere between the primer bulb and fuel filter.
