Yodel van reverses into house...
Discussion
After some quick opinions on behalf of my aunt - she lives on a main road with a small road down the side of her house. This afternoon a yodel van has attempted to reverse down the side road to make a delivery and has managed to hit her side fence causing damage to the fence and porch (from what she can see).
The driver in broken english says he hasn't got much money (!) and will call his boss who is currently on his way to my aunt's. They were talking about sending a builder round to fix the problem...
My thoughts are that this should be covered either by Yodel Public Liability Insurance (is that the right term?) or the 3rd party bit of the vehicle insurance, and that my aunt should deal with them directly but should be able to instruct a surveyor/builders of her choosing for quotes etc (there's a chance this has structural impact to the house given the way the house is built and the damage that can be seen).
I'm worried that the driver is essentially self employed and will send his mates round to "fix the issue".
Any thoughts?

A Tesco delivery driver reversed into one of our gate pillars (about 7' tall & 6' wide) fairly recently & dislodged the slab of stone on the top. Having tried to move it back into position with his van
and failing miserably he admitted defeat and gave us a form to fill in. I was hoping Tesco would send us cash money to fix it, but they sent round one of their contractors who fixed it.
Fairly straightforward process really.

Good luck with dealing with Yodel. My dads car was parked outside his house when it was damaged and left undriveable when a Yodel subcontract driver hit it.
Trying to get hold of someone at Yodel was near impossible, and despite passing on the van drivers details (the van driver left a note on my dads car with every detail, apart from the van registration number). Yodel denied knowing the driver and made little attempt to check into the matter.
My dad also told his own insurance who weren't brilliant either, and they had issues getting things sorted with Yodel and their subcontractor (who kept blaming each other). In the end my dad lost his excess as his insurance company couldn't get Yodel to pay up. (My dad had instructed his own insurance to get the car fixed, and try and claim the money back, as he needed a car, and this was fast turning into a saga).
From the van hitting the car, to his insurance company saying they could do no more, the time this dragged on for was 1 year.

I would imagine a huge fleet like Yodel will have a massive excess making them effectively self insured, so want to keep it "off the books" insurance wise.
.
The excess will be for own damage only, like all excesses. So any tp damage is excess free. But as said, driver will be self employed and have his own van insurance. The van insurance will cover it. .

Thanks for the responses.
Driver's boss (assume the franchisee) came round a couple of hours after the incident and was surprised at the extent of the damage (his driver sent him pics of the damaged fence, not the porch etc). Handed over all the insurance details and it's going through my aunt's home insurance.
Hoping for a quick resolution

My brother in law does some bodywork for a local fleet of national couriers, he get's paid a little extra but the van generally arrive after 5pm to be out the next day or on a friday/saturday night to be ready monday am - they pay for their own repairs and want the van off the road for as little time as possible, they also get every little bit of damage fixed as their image is important to them.
I was very surprised tbh, saw a few vans in repeatedly, generally seems to be sill damage or rear door damage
