Roof repair

Just had my rear window replaced by Martrim in Middlewich, Cheshire.

£188 all in, and a bloody great job they did too. The chap who did it (its a big place with a few staff) even went around the car glueing bits of unstuck carpet back in place.

I have piccies on my phone of the process, I'll put them here later if anyone is interested.

Interesting to see how the particular TVR builder who did the roof bodged a few things, like screwholes not being central, and the roof material being too big on one side!



I asked about a nice leather cover for the steering column, and the guy was happy to quote me approx £150 for the work. Definitely something to do in the near future, he said its a bit involved to stitch it together, but we both agreed it would look much better than the plastic.

Ahh.. just got a quote for replacing the rear screen for £80 seems a good deal!

To be fair I have already removed the hood, so he just has to pick it up and drop it off a couple of days later.

Piccies in there, although they're rough and ready phone piccies.

The window is so large that they have to turn the sheet of plastic diagonally, it just about fits (about 1/2 inch either side).

Also, try and get it done on a clear day, you really don't want to drive home with the glue smell, I took the lid off and drove home risking the rain, otherwise -

Had my roof and rear screen done not long ago at Martrim, top outfit. Previously had retrimmed Cerbera seats for the Griff.
