Dear friends and supporters of this wonderful event.
As I have always said.."I will always endeavour to create a memorable experience for all guests of the BBWF".. Its a shame that all the other variants of TVR who were invited couldn’t make it as it was after all a celebration of 70 years of TVR!...
I would like to personally thank Howard, We have both worked very hard for over 18 months planning and managing this special occasion, we probably covered the work it would of taken a large team to organise, After all you cannot just throw something together last minute and hope it will be good..
It was an honour to meet Martin Lilley, Chris Shirle, John Mleczek, my good friend Ollie who never fails to make me laugh...and Barry "Whizzo" Williams who has a world of interesting experiences with a lot of famous people to share, When we were at Gaydon on Sunday I caught Barry talking to Phillip Sorrell whilst they were filming bargain hunt at Gaydon's antique fair, Barry introduced me to Phillip, I also got to shake Anita Manning's hand..Surreal..Oliver was made up as not only was there TVR's at Gaydon but also a classic Jaguar rally and a couple of Lotus seven's in the car park ..
(I did cough loudly while they were filming so it should be on TV in October...
...I also caught a cameraman catching me stroking a DB5..I hope they don't show that clip...
)
Martin, John, Chris, Whizzo and Oliver all congratulated me on this great achievement and said how much they all thoroughly enjoyed the weekend...
...It was my pleasure as I can now put to bed all the rumours and wind blown stories of rare cars from people who really don't have clue, what better than hearing it from the horses mouth..So to speak...I have been honoured and if I was to say that I didn't shed a little tear of joy when I looked in my rear view mirror on the way to Ragley Hall and saw a mile of TVR's then I would be a big fat bald liar...
So I would like to thank Howard, Maggie, Heather, Sue, Judith, The "folding ladies" ..Our special guests of honour, Chesford Grange hotel and staff for hosting our event and providing some absolutely delicious food delights, Ragley hall for agreeing to our Saturday venue, The firework team for putting on a top class display, all the design and print team who put together all the hours Howard put in to our professionally produced commemorative brochure and stickers and the all new BBWF banners, all of which are truly fantastic, a big thank you to all of our sponsors, a big shout out to “Disco Tony” who said the last hour of our event was the best gig he has done in years, he was laughing and crying the same time..And a special thank you to table 13, they say 13 is unlucky, well it was for all those who missed the madness dancing at the end…Absolutely fan-bloody-tatstic….
Thank you also to Alan Toomey for congratulating me on the success of the event, that really meant a lot to me as you all know Alan was one of the originators of BBWF..
I would also like to thank every single person who committed to coming along to support this years celebrations and helping to raise a phenomenal amount of money at this years charity raffle and rare TVR Memorabilia charity auction, I will be announcing the amount shortly.
This weekend has reunited me with people I haven't seen for over 6 years, I have made at least 50 new friends who I will always look forward to seeing again, even our special guest were blown away as some of them have not seen each other in many many years...It was emotional, It was fantastic, It was BBWF 2017 celebrating 70 years of TVR.
Until next year..Keep safe..Keep smiling and above all keep Wedging…
Viva la TVR…Viva la Wedge…
