Anyone still use these? I love mashed potatoes but waiting for them to boil is a pain- any recommendations?

I use an electric one pretty much daily - love it. Like you say, spuds done to perfection 5 mins at pressure. Most green veg 0-1 mins at pressure. (Soaked) beans from 6-30 minutes, depending on type. What's not to like!
Instant Pot DUO 80 was on offer amazon prime yesterday - I think it was £80 - shame a day too late.

We have a Tower one touch pressure cooker received as a Christmas present, only used it a few times but found it really good, beef ragu cooking time reduced by about 2 thirds. Went to use it the other week and it wouldn't hold any pressure, could the seal have gone already?

Not likely. Is the sealing ring properly seated?

It didn't look displaced or anything but you could move the lid around when fastened, maybe the mechanism isn't working properly?
