Issues with my XF1 Fujifilm Camera
Discussion
Hi Folks,
Purchased a Fujifilm XF1 camera a few years ago based on recommendations here, and its been a great camera. Just back from a trip to Florence, and started to take some photo's which looked ok but after a while they start to look washed-out and then just became completely white.

Now when you turn on the camera now, you cannot even see the image in the viewfinder its completely blank. I think its perhaps down to the shutter not closing correctly, and now completely closed, but unsure.
Logged onto Fuji film Repair center and they suggested a repair charge of £85 to fix it.
Any way to check its the shutter, and if this normally an easy fix or is the camera worth replacing.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

There are well known issues with the XF1 regarding stuck apertures, lenses, etc. It hasn't been Fuji's finest moment with their recent cameras. There are loads of 'broken' ones on eBay and even good ones are struggling to make 3 figures.
Personally I think you'd be better taking your £85 and putting it towards a secondhand Sony RX100

That sounds like sticking aperture blades - they don't close fast fast enough to get the exposure right; ultimately all are taken at max aperture.Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
