W212 E350 - AirCap

Hi all bought a new to me 2010 E350 CDi last weekend. Loving it ! what a car. 7 of my last 9 cars have all been Mercedes covering C, E, CLS, CLK class. This is by far the best.
Only gripes so far,1. sounds a bit 'taxi' like at low revs under load and 2. the AirCap doesnt work at the top of the windscreen. Works OK at the rear. Have read about a possible previous ECU software update that stop the AirCap working by accident. Other than that any other knows causes ?
It was sourced from a used car place although Id rather see if I can resolve myself. Its no big deal but if its easily \ cheaply repaired I will do it , else I can just as happily live without it.
