I keep hearing about PASM on the new Boxster. What is it and is it an option/cost upgrade? I have PSM on my 03 S, not sure if this performs a similar function?

Not life or death but nice to know!

Works in conjunction with PSM - I believe PSM is now standard and PASM is an option...

I think it can "harden" and "soften" the suspension (probably individually) to autmoatically adjust the car for the current driving conditions.

Very clever indeed...

If it's the same thing, but with a different acronym as Tiff tested on the Jag, it's amazing!

Took a PASM equiped car on a test drive, and was so good it went onto the option list.

As Don says,it alters the 'feel' of the car, on Normal mode the car absorbes bumps and ridges, and rides a lot smoother than the missus Cooper S.
Then on sport mode the car instantly firms up, and the nose starts bobbing (a la GT3).

It is probably a little harsh on normal roads, but a must for track use.

But the clever sods have made it active, so on normal, if you start to press on the car automaticaly firms up with a variable range of firmness, depending on your level of insanity behind the wheel!
