from S to Chimaera to another S

Hi everyone,
It's about time I stopped lurking and introduced myself to everyone......
Last week I became the latest lucky owner of a lovely S2. Most people would be excited by the prospect of owning an S2 but it was a difficult decision for me because it meant I had to part with my Chimaera.
I had previously owned an S2 as an everyday car before enjoying 3 years of Chimaera ownership. A new home further from work and a 4ltr engine meant that the daily commute was soon costing a fortune so I decided to sell the Chimaera to fund a practical everyday car and another S to achieve the best of both worlds; economy Monday - Friday and noisy soft top fun at the weekends. We nearly didn't complete the deal at the last moment but deep down we knew it was the sensible thing to do.
After 1 week of ownership, including a fab blast to Donington for the GT's on Sunday, do we have any regrets? NOT AT ALL!!!!
I'd forgotton how much fun these cars are and the S does exactly what we want it to. Ok, we will miss the bigger boot, refinement and power of the Chimaera on longer trips but for smiles per pound the S cannot be beaten.
Unfortunately my girlfriend, who is 5 foot 5, prefers the driving position of the S. Fortunately the lack of power steering means I'll still do most of the driving!
Things to do now?
1. Remember that to get out of the car I use the handle on the door rather than the knob next to the gearstick
2. Take a break from driving the car and get some photo's of it on my profile
3. Summon the enthusiasm to stop using the S to get to work and start looking for the daily commuting car!!

I spotted a couple of S's parked up near us, overlooking the Old Hairpin (I think). Were you parked there ? What colour is your car ?
I'm a long established S owner myself - it's been a whole 2 weeks I've had mine now !!

You could always get another S 
, friend at work may be off loading his S1.5 soon I'll drop you a text if necessary. Very good price too, ideal as a fun no worry sort of thing

I hadn't driven mine for about 4 months until last weekend and I had the same first drive feeling again, it was lovely and I like the overall style and appearance of the car more than ever.
During the past couple of weeks I've seen a couple of Cerberas, a tuscan, three Chimeras and two Griffs.
And no S's, they are a rare sight now and look so nice.

I have never seen another Griff on the road. Also I have never been spotted!!!
In either car. Phil, obviously you've not sampled my lights on the Griff. If you think the S was bad.......

Yes I was parked there in between a blue Cerbera and green Chimaera. My S is Regency Red (i.e. claret)....will get pic on profile asap

Yes, will try to be there. Been meaning to get to a meeting for the last 3 or 4 years!! Now work is more organised I hope to attend regularly.
Have also signed up for S Club at Silverstone and will be at Rockingham in June.

Phil, I got round to adding some relays on mine last month, which makes it better, a trip back from Donington was much better. Might be at the H&C next week, as long as I don't get elected for anything
Going to try and make it mate - might even have the S re taxed in time. I stuck in 100/80 "blue" bulbs in the S and the lighting is actually superb now. Although the wiring hasnt failed yet, I want to also add some extra driving lights to the front and not sure how to wire these in without straining an already overworked system.... we'll have a chat!
