It takes Allsorts.....

Can you beat this (I'm sure you can)?

While cleaning my recently purchased V8S my son found under the seat a £1 coin, the lid from a tennis ball tube, a window cleaning squeegy, and an unopened packet of "Bassetts Liquorice Allsorts".

The "Best Before" date for this packet of sweets was May 1998! That's 2 years before the car last changed hands. I wondered is these "Allsorts" might be a collectors item, but finally decided to bin them.

What interesting items have you found in your newly aquired TVR?

A cap (black with tan peak, yuck), some form of Troll toy on a pencil, 3 pence, a relay, some string (2 inches thereabouts) and a cloth.

In the boot of my Chimaera there is a small gap under the lump that is the petrol tank (i think). Anyway, it turns out to be a good hiding place for a can of tuna (rusty) ! I wonder how many more cans of tuna I'll find?

IIRC, cans of tuna were included as standard on all TVRs built after 1997. A variety of opening devices have appeared on the cans, ranging from the traditional 'key' opener to the (Cerbera-style) ring-pull effort.

Prior to 1997, owners had to make do with mackerel.

When I got my griff it came with a ZZ Top tape in the stereo. When I sold the car to Dusty C 2 and half years later I made sure the tape was still in place

When I got my Griff I found that some careless person had left a load of Carbon fibre and Stainess Steel bit in the engine bay!!

Noting incriminating in either of my cars.

AA man left me a nice little ajustable once. Still my favorite ajustable, but ANYTHING could still be untightened!
