Age restriction on vehicle?

You are probably at best looking at a Solas Octavia vRS.

No age restrictions. Ok. Yes, the vRS could be fine. Any chances of getting a BM, Merc, Audi, maybe a hybrid ?

Could be more interesting if your total car budget was £500.

That's what I was hoping too!

Even so I would think options may be limited doing 30K pa!

Good luck OP. thumbup

I'd be trying my hardest to get into an Alfa Giulia of some description.

Can you elaborate on 'tax efficient'?

Is it a company car of said value on the lease - or is it a physical car allowance and you're on your own?

If it's the latter you've been taxed on it as part of your salary

It is a company car. I've been given this £500 net car allowance to find a car.

Set that for business, 3/36 and 30k pa and its £364 which should leave you enough for the maintenance

I would only go for a BMW if you can get the x30d model. For tax reasons I stepped down from a 430d to a 2.0tdi. When changing I tested cars in the class, my favourites from best to last....

Jag XE - Chassis, comfort and looks miles ahead of the rest
Alfa Guilia - Great chassis and handling - Delivery time too long
Octavia VRS - No faults
BMW 320d - Great quality, great chassis - poor steering - poor idrive (still!)- Although Good value car
Audi A4 - Probably the best 'car' however just so dull
Golf GTD - Great car - Just the same as the Skoda but slightly better interior plastics

All are good cars but for me the Jag and Skoda stood out. I went for the Skoda and if you could get either in budget you wont be disappointed.

If a company car then I would suggest the PHEV co car tax dodge specials such as BMW 225xe, 330e, Golf GTE, A3 e-tron, or Mitsubishi Outlander.

That's what I'd do. Worth trying to get a future view though on co car tax vs how long you'll have it.
I'm guessing they'll clamp down on these soon..,

Skoda Superb

If you're doing 30k miles you are going to want to be comfortable, and I am never not comfortable in the Superb I use for most of my driving

I'd say a Mondeo Titanium/Vignale depending on budget would be a great shout loaded with kit & a good steer to boot they also come in Hybrid form so that should help with the BIK.

Fully agree on being comfortable. Priority would be seats, ride comfort (No sports suspension) and small wheels for larger tyre walls.

Good feedback guys, pretty much my thoughts exactly about comfort. Will probably go for a tax dodging 3 series.

That's a five-door, not a four door as the OP requested!

Talk about missing the brief...
