Please Help.. Just Broke my Alarm Fob
Discussion
I've just dropped my keys and fob on the floor and now the alarm fob doesn't work. Bugger. Bugger.
The fob is the squarish shaped single button unit with the TVR logo on it (Meta I Think). I have opened it up found that the small red switch button in the center of the circuit board has broken and become loose.
I can get the unit to work if I press the red button directly, but when I put it back into the casing, the red button dislodges and does not make the contact.
Where can I get hold of a replacement fob?
If anybody has any other suggestions that may be a bit security sensitive, then please contact me via my profile rather than post here.

Are you locked out?
No Al. I can get the unit to work, but I have to take the circuit board out of the casing and press the tiny red button directly rather than using the moulded botton on the casing. Does that make sense?
The tiny red button dislodges when in the casing.
I had exactly the same problem, but after a few pushes of the red button, it stopped working. This coincided with the dab of superglue I put in there! Be careful!
Luckily mine finally gave up after the opening cycle, so at least I wasn't locked out!
I ordered a new fob from www.alarmremotes.co.uk

Can you possibly dab a drop of super glue around it until you can get a replacement? NOT TOO MUCH!
Or you could apply a splodge (technical term for a bit more that a dab) of fast set Araldite on the underside of the circuit board to facilitate a temporary repair.
Many thanks Al, but the hole in which the red button locates is much too small to even put a smidgin of glue in. The glue would also interfere with the minute mechanism of the switch.
All sorted now. I found a company in Trafford Park, Tech-Tronics Ltd, who supplied two brand new genuine Meta Fobs. I had to gain access to the alarm unit and they did the rest.
A big thanks also to Carl of TVRUK.com for his help over the telephone this morning (top bloke) and also to Paul at Chris Neils who told me where that "third" nut is located to gain access to the alarm unit.

The exact same thing happened to me. Be very careful, because the chip button may soon give up the ghost and fall off completely. I got stranded in Lincoln, but luckily could gain access to the car and had the immobiliser over-ride handy. I drove back to Leicester with my lights flashing and stopped off at TMS in Melton, who luckily had a spare fob in stock. They programmed the new one using a screwdriver tip to complete the circuit and send the pulses required to start the new fob on my car.
Had I not got the immobiliser over-ride with me, I would have been stranded.
