Crystal black/ phantom black

Hi, I have an S3 in crystal black (I think this was previously known as phantom black). I have the odd stone chip and was informed by my Audi dealer that due to this particular shade of black/purple it's immensely difficult to get a paint touch up stick. They are attempting to get one or have a small amount made up. I'm surprised more people haven't asked for one though.

Anyone managed to get hold of one from anywhere?

My wife had exactly the same colour on an S3 cabriolet and Audi's response to me was they do not do a touch up stick for this colour as it's a rare colour. I was given the paint code by the parts department of the local Audi dealership and they suggested going to a car paint shop to get some made up. I was going to do this but we sold the S3.

If the stone chips and marks are small, will it really notice? I've just touched up my pearl black Audi with a basic 'off the shelf' black from Halfords and it has done the job perfectly.

Perhaps not the solution your looking for, but worth considering.

The crystal black is not quite the same as pearl black it has green and purple in it which can be seen quite easily when polished and under bright light.

Pretty sure the colour is called Panther Black, it is crystal effect, Mythos was formally known as phantom and is a metallic paint.
As far as I know you cannot get a touch up, I have a prism silver rs4 (also crystal effect) and had a very lengthy and expensive wait for paint after picking up a huge chip on the bonnet. I won't bother with crystal again looks great in the sun but a pain to rectify issues

You're right that's the exact name for it, i couldn't remember the full name but yes it's Panther Black and Audi do not do crystal effect touch up sticks which is annoying. The paint code for it is LZ9Z.
