Just joined the world of TVR motoring (6 weeks ago). Have bought a '99 ice blue Chimaera 450. Always wanted one and decided to bite the bullet. Just a note to say if you see a grinning idiot waving or flashing round Basingstoke I'm new to all this so be nice! Haven't had this much fun on the road for ages!!!!

Nick,

Welcome! I presume that's "Magnetique Blue"? If so, I have the same... Great colour.

Now you just need to get along to some of the PH events. Coming to Pie on the Beach this weekend?

You've made a good decision! Welcome to the crazy world of TVR (and Piston Heads of course...). This site has been invaluable for me as a relatively new TVR owner and there is some very friendly and knowledgeable people on here - if you have any questions regarding any aspect of ownership just add a post in the TVR forums. Have fun!

Cheers Harrigan,

Could be Magnetic blue? Not sure, stated as Jaguar Ice blue on the manual but then there are hardly 2 stated the same I guess! Nearly went for a 4.0 in Silver but then the blue 4.5 caught my eye. Girlfriend wanted me to get a Boxster but then she heard the V8!!!
Will have to find out about the local meets and get along. This weekend am taking it down to Bath so will miss out but will have to find out what the next events are before the winter sets in!

You'll find there's quite a thriving TVR community in and around Basingstoke!

You're probably right I've seen a load around Basingstoke area,

There's a green one in Lychpit that I see every now and then, a ruby red one I see most mornings on the way to work on Hanmore rd !
I've seen a couple of Griffs around too.

What's the usual meet?

Like to know who the others are I see.

There's a meet at the Wheatsheaf (as I recall) on the A30 near Dummer - can't remember when, but someone will doubtless fill in. There's also the Berks TVRCC meet at the Swan, Three Mile Cross every 3rd Tuesday of the month.

There have also been a couple of PH meets in and around Basingstoke, although I only managed to get to one. I suspect there will be others! Don?!

The green Chimaera in Lychpit is about 50 yards from where I live (K-reg, sports exhaust) and there's a green Griff about 10 yards (neighbour!) from where I live. I have a dark blue Chimaera. Bit of a racket around that part of Lychpit I seem to recall that Don also lives nearby.

I'm also in Lychpit so the noise will continue to rise. Sorry to all the old folk who live on Great Binfields Rd!

whatever has a mean green Cerbera and lives in the Lychpit area. I used to live just down the road from him....we have a blue Chimaera 450 and a Porsche Boxster S...but have since relocated to Kempshott.

If you can..come along to Pie On The Beach...its this Sunday and we leave from the Basingstoke Leisure centre. Introduce yerself - we'll all be pleased to meet you.

We must do some Friday night PH beers in Basingstoke sometime. There are certainly enough of us to do it easily...

All the details you need for POTB are here:
