82' headlight trims

I want to re-fit my painted round trims to headlights, but cant' now remember how it all goes together, there is (I think) a lip on the top of the wing/light bowl which they somehow clip onto, but they dont seem very positive a fit.
I have new threaded bolts to go in, at base but what actually holds the lamps in the wing?
