Engine code? If it's a TFSI it's a timing belt.
TSI is a chain.

2.0T in a B7 A4 is an EA113 petrol engine that uses a timing belt and not a timing chain.

The recommended interval is every 5 years or 75,000 miles (whichever is the sooner) and replacing the water pump at the same time is good practice.
