dads stopped eating would it be better for him to starve to death rather than cancer pain?

Sorry to hear that, but that is a question for whoever is doing his palliative care, they have drug protocols to use in given situations and have seen how things pan out, its a situation that can change day by day, hour by hour, is he in a hospice or at home ?

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Your question is a bit hard to answer to be honest as you don't say what sort of cancer he has or what stage it's at. When my Dad was dying of bowel cancer he was simply unable to eat in the latter stages due to the restrictions in his digestive system. Most he could manage was a small bowl of custard. I don't think he was in any real pain as the palliative care he received in the hospice was nothing short of incredible. Is was a very difficult thing to watch as basically his body shut down organ by organ due to the cancer and next to no food. You have my deepest sympathies.
