Prove you're 18 or no grumble sites for you from 2018

The digital economy act grows another tooth - not satisfied with knowing what sites people go on, and allowing seemingly everyone except the general public to be able to see, now nanny wants to ensure you can't watch online grumble without proving your age and will block any grumble sites that do not comply.
So, that's you on a list if you disable the ISP-level grumble filter, then on a list if you currently watch it online, and from 2018, on a third list as to someone definitely over 18 who wants to watch grumble online.

Anyone else click the thread to find out what grumble is?
Having read the article, I am in favour of the Grumble part, its far to easy for young kids to access this 'grumble'. Don't see how they can make it work though with international providers.
Hidden in the article are the more controversial bits BBC should be focusing on:

It's a synonym which is older than the internet when it comes to discussing the subject at hand (fnarr). It also avoids using the more usual term which may or may not be blocked by workplace filters, causing issues for people reading the site at work.

It's impossible to restrict all access. You can block access to the dedicated providers, but you'll never catch all of the rest.YouTube is a perfect example. It's not very prominent, but it is there. They simply cannot remove all of it, especially the videos with so few views. How do the Govt block access to these videos for example?

They aren't planning to. From 2018 all web browsers will have a picture of Teresa May looking disapprovingly at you. For all but a few sickos it should be enough to remove the desire to hunt for grot.YouTube is a perfect example. It's not very prominent, but it is there. Annnnnddd I'm done.Cheers.
Seriously though I am torn on this one a bit. I have no problem in admitting i like to look at the odd bit of grumble as much as the next person, and I am happy to admit it to anyone from the fiancee to my mother to my boss (not that he would ask but then if he did i would just say "Yep, how about you and what is the firms interest in this?" On the other hand like my hedge porn in days of yore, I aint payin' fo me grumble and the idea of giving yet another faceless unknown entity credit card details when i have no intention to buy anything seems to be creating a massive opportunity for scammers and people far more sinister than 14 yearold Barry banging the bottom of his study desk when he should be reading up on Anne of Cleaves, not Anne's Cleavage.

Exactly, it smacks of being written by someone who doesn't understand how the internet works. Do they really think that all these websites will sign up to an age verification process? These aren't banks, they're grumble sites. If one site blocks you from viewing, it's fine as there are thousands of others out there with the same content, and different methods of delivery other than WWW.

If they could make it work properly, and have it done by a trustworthy third party with some form of digital vault which can confirm to the grot site that validation has taken place without the validation details being shared, I'd have no objection to it.
I'm as happy as the next man to enjoy the occasional bit of light entertainment on the web, but as a parent, I think my boys should have to show a bit of initiative to get to it themselves, just as we did as boys, not have it all served to them on a plate by any old search engine!

Nothing to do with the web sites themselves, your ISP will be blocking access to all known websites for grumble unless you opt in, much like they do for known pirate sites now except without the opt in option. Mobile operators do this already. These aren't banks, they're grumble sites. Work required by kids who dont care
1.) Free VPN
2.) Enjoy grot
or
1.) generate valid cc number
2.) Enjoy grot
Schools will start mini market places for valid cc numbers to bypass grot filter, or share downloaded smut in a parallel to the old style hedge pron sharing
As usual it's been thought up by people like May etc who have zero idea about almost anythting
