OK, I admit, I should have noticed but I didn't.

I've recently moved house to the end of a cul-de-sac where I have to pass over 5 speed bumps.

This is fine in my normal car but when I tried to get my kit car (Dax Cobra) home I do not have enough ground clearance.

The humps are within the legal limit of 100mm but I've about 50mm under my engine.

Do I have any options (apart from move house again)? Is there any devices that can help me?

The car is stored in a lock up at the minute and I'm losing sleep worrying about it.

Please help.

Have you thought of adjustable suspension?

I would've thought a 50mm engine ground clearance is going to result in a wrecked sump sooner or later somewhere.

You say it in such a way that it's only the ones in your street that are a problem. Newsflash : you won't get more than half a mile on urban roads without finding them in your way. Presumably with it that low to ground you only intend driving it on a track so what's the problem with sticking it on the trailer for it and bringing it in to your house that way?

They are the only ones that will cause me issues, living on the edge of the pennines means pass the humps and I'm away free. It doesn't go in to town don't trust Joe public who have no appreciation for cars.

You've just made a very expensive mistake then.

Angles are your friend or is there free pavement where the speed bumps are?

Have an Audi A6 which for some unknown reason seems low as fk, but it isn't lowered and all the suspension is stock but it catches speed bumps all the time, usually go for half the car on the pavement and drive slowly over the bumps as I am tired of ripping the exhaust off.

Also guidelines these days recommend 75mm max height IIRC

75mm for a hump, 100mm for a table. ramp gradient of 1 in 10 max.

A colleague of mine has same problem, with the same car. Has to use a dropped kerb to get the car up onto the pavement. He then drives along pavement until he has cleared the bumps and uses next drop kerb to return to the road. Bit awkward when he has to ask a neighbour to move their parked car so he can drive past on the pavement though.

He rarely uses the Cobra due to the hassle. May even have sold it now.

Out of curiosity, is there any way to doss your council in for not adhering to these guidelines? There is a fairly new table hump near me which most definitely exceeds 10cm/1:10. They do my absolute tits in, my Mx5 is only dropped 30mm and I always clock my exhaust off of it.

Doss means sleep. As in, 'I need to get my fat head down, where's me doss bag?' I think you meant 'dob' from our Aussie cousins.

Op, very inelegant solution, but if you carry some 14" pieces of wood, you could make your own ramps temporarily to get on / off. Used to have to do this to get a race car on a trailer. Just chuck em flat on the road lengthways like a step.
Ours were (from memory) 1.5" x 2", about a foot long.
