Canopy Latches - Cable Pull

The final body fit is now complete so I thought I'd connect up the cable pulls for the cable release levers.

The latches worked fine while the cables were not connected, connect the cables and the latches will not lock in place?

I've slackened the cables, moved the latches but still no joy.

Any tips?

WIth cables connected you stil must have about 4mm slack to allow for overthrow.
