Are the bushes I have drawn an arrow to on the anti roll bar an MOT failure if they are split or perished, but do not cause excessive free play?

Looking at the MOT manual - section 2.4, G cites reason for failure as "a suspension component or its attachment bracket or linkage is cracked, fractured or insecure". So it looks like it could be an MOT failure even if there is not excessive free play. What do people think?

Are you sure that's not just how they're made? ARB bushes are normally split so you can fit them round the roll bar in the first place.

if its them in the photo then yes its a split to enable you to push them on , will be ok as long as no slop

The other ones are quite perished, but there is no free play. They just look bad.

TBH, arb bushes are dirt cheap & two bolts to change on that car. If I were worried about it, I'd just stick two new ones on & enjoy the improved handling into the bargain.

As above, that one looks brand new, they have to be split, otherwise you yould have to completely remove the ARB to get the old one off & new one on.

If there are others that are perished they may fail, if there is obvious slop they WILL fail.

That looks fine, has to be a lot of play in ARB D Bushes for a fail. As above that cut is necessary to install them.

No, that bush looks fine. It' is just the split so that it can be fitted onto the ARB.
