Porsche opens mega-Centre

New big shop for selling fast cars

Porsche Centre, Hatfield
Porsche Centre, Hatfield
Porsche plans to open the largest Porsche Centre in the UK on a new site in Hatfield. Ground has already been broken on the 2.5 acre site and the new centre is scheduled to open in September 2005.

Porsche reckons the building will cover some 3,000 sq. metres and contain up to 35 cars. The facility includes a 15-bay workshop and four customer handover bays. Customers benefit from access to a Porsche Direct Dialogue bay -- presumably this means they'll actually talk to you. Porsche's take is that any necessary work can be highlighted and explained before it starts.

The current Hatfield site stays open until the new site is ready. All 52 existing staff will then move to the new site, and staff numbers will grow to about 60. They're not recruiting from outside...

"The new site for Porsche Centre Hatfield will offer our customers an unparalleled experience, whether they are buying their first Porsche or having much-loved cars serviced or upgraded," said Porsche UK boss Andy Goss.

The full address for the new site will be Porsche Centre Hatfield, 1 Hatfield Avenue, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, AL10 9UA.

I can see this being built from my office - it'll liven up the dreary drive in every morning once its up and running. With any luck there will be Carrera GT's buzzing around all day

Mostly a variety of 8 . . . It's a must see when you're around ()

Occasional Cayennes spoil it off course.

Wow, Porsche have broken the all consumer boundaries by building a very big showroom. Isn't this like an upmarket version of Yes Car Credit albeit selling only 3 varieties of cars.

As for the Dialogue Centre, I've owned various dull cars Renault and Ford and have spoken directly with the mechanics each time it's been serviced.
