Cos they're all as bad as one another? That's my reason.
That's how I used to feel, so I'd spoil my paper or vote for the loonies just so I registered. However I a sick of being lied to and treated like a child by the current incumbents, so this time I'm voting properly.
But, as much as I'd love to agree with you regarding getting the current bunch 'out'...would the then forthcoming bunch not be, as we have said, equally as bad.
In 'theory'...my political stance is very much to the right, but I just can't see that divide anymore between the possibilities we have

If you just can't vote - OK.
Otherwise - PLEASE VOTE! Vote for the Monster Raving Loony candidate if you must - it could help save his deposit!
If you can't bring yourself to vote for any of them "spoil" your ballot by writing "NONE OF THE ABOVE" all over it and put it in the box...it has to be counted and is a message to whoever is in power that you are dissatisfied!

If your local MP suddenly sees a bunch of votes going to someone else - even a no-hope independant - they will want to know why. Voting for someone - anyone - who's policies appeal to you sends a message to all of the parties.
Sure, it won't necessarily do anything about the worthless, dishonest wastes of space that get in to government, but it can (and does) change policy. Voting for the local guy who has a clue makes a real difference.
Also, with very low voter turnout, getting to the poll station (with your family, friends, mates, colleagues) can actually make a difference. Voting tactically can also really work.
Besides, if everyone on Pistonheads voted next month, I suspect Ghengis Khan would stand a chance

You raise good points Daz/Mech...hmmmm.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not toying with deciding between Labour/Conservative/Local etc...I'm toying with not voting or spoiling / Conservative!
Just remember which scunthorpe resident of 10 Downing Street signed up to something that will allow French gendarmes to put points on our english licences. A spoilt vote, is a wasted vote, which still leaves him in number 10.

I did once, in the local elections when I lived in Oxfordshire, write NONE OF THESE WANKERS on the paper. Somehow it gave me a strange sense of satisfaction.

Mr Tony, if the blues can't rely on your eminent ilk then what even vague hope is there?
Wasn't much in te first place really was there though Der - insiders I know have always talked about the 'margin of defeat' on this one - back since December...
