Longer wheelbase techie question
Discussion
Since the chassis is been hacked at the moment for a rear biased weight distribution,I see no reason in increasing the wheelbase(although i'll have to bin the rollgage and have some unusual looking long doors)and assuming the chassis is made rigid, what would be your ideal wheelbase?(track=1750mm).

I assume you're after increased traction by putting more weight onto the rear wheels. I imagine it would be hard to move the bell housing any further back so any length increase would have to be achieved by moving the rear wheels back relative to the engine. Doesn't this make the weight distribution worse rather than better? A moderate increase would probably improve the handling though.
Yip its a catch 22,
The engine is set back 80/90mm and 50mm lower from the original position .So theoretecley (waiting for the spelling and grammar nazis)with a 200mm increase in wheelbase it should be about the same static split.
So the biggest hurdle I see besides breaking bits(im not going to overbuild in the first instance)is getting power down.
What do you reckon,a better poised car if I increase the wheelbase or better power down if I leave as is.
Not blowing trumpets but I want/have to, maximize the power, dyno'd with the standard GM ecu and headers,(junked) at 450,hp.
Joolz, was that 1.4 x the track based on od or centre of wheels for the track? My figure of 1750mm is od.

If you aren't doing it to give you an edge in competition then looks may be important to you as well. I've no idea how the external and internal appearance would be affected by a wheelbase change but it could make quite a difference.
